Kidney Beans

  • Kidney beans are an excellent plant-based source of protein. They’re also rich in various minerals, vitamins, fibers, antioxidants, and other unique plant compounds.

  • High In Essential Minerals: kidney beans are high in blood building iron, phosphorous - which plays a crucial role in healthy bones and teeth - and vitamin K that helps protect the nervous system from free radical damage.

  • The carbs present in kidney beans are the good kinds, also known as the 'slow-release carbohydrate'. These carbs delay the digestion, which aids slow release of sugars in the blood stream.

Bell Peppers

  • Boost Immunity: load up on vitamin C. 1 cup of sliced red bell peppers gives you 157% of your daily vitamin C content, making them a great way to stay healthy.

  • Balance Mood: Naturally occurring in bell peppers, B6 helps your brain produce serotonin and norepinephrine, two chemicals that affect your mood.

  • Natural Sleep Aid: The vitamin B6 found in bell peppers also aids in melatonin production, which your body needs to regulate its internal clock.

Brown Rice

  • A whole grain that contains the bran and germ, as apposed to white rice which is a refined grain that has these nutritious parts removed.

  • Brown rice has a lower glycaemic index than white rice, meaning that it’s digested slower & has less of an impact on blood sugar.

  • The fibre helps lower cholesterol, moves waste through the digestive tract, promotes fullness & may help prevent the formation of blood clots.

  • Exceptionally high in manganese, a mineral vital for many important processes in the body, such as bone development, wound healing, muscle contraction metabolism, nerve function & blood sugar regulation.
